The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly weekend traffic accident in Janesville Township. Deputies responded to the two-vehicle head-on crash a little after 6:00 o’clock Saturday night on Highway 11 west near Austin Road. Investigators say it appears a vehicle being driven east on Highway 11, by a 43-year-old Janesville man, entered into the westbound lane and hit a westbound vehicle being driven by a 78-year-old woman from Footville. Both drivers were taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. The Footville woman later died, and the Janesville man was last listed in critical condition. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts.
