The Whitewater School District is buses students to the Young Auditorium on the UW-Whitewater campus after locking down its schools for a reason unrelated to the search for Janesville’s Joseph Jakubowski.
Whitewater Police say at 1:55 Friday afternoon the district office was notified of a person with a gun in their waistband near the middle school
At about 3:40 p.m., students from the middle school, high school and Lincoln Elementary School were being bused to Young Auditorium, where their parents could pick them up.
The subject is currently inside a residence on Walworth Avenue near South Elizabeth Street and is refusing to come out.
