A near head-on collision with a Rock County sheriff’s deputy lands a Beloit man in jail. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Nicholas L. Daniel was arrested on a charge of fourth-offense intoxicated driving shortly after midnight Saturday. Deputies say Daniel was driving in the middle of Afton Road near Finley Road and nearly struck a squad car. Daniel also was arrested on charges of driving after revocation and threats to a law enforcement officer. A Sheriff’s report says he threatened to kill the deputy and his family members.
