Edgerton man accused in driving incident

A 26-year-old Edgerton man is accused of forcing his ex-girlfriend’s car off the road.  Charges against Tanner S. Helgestad include first-degree recklessly endangering safety as domestic abuse, battery, and disorderly conduct.  A woman told sheriff’s deputies that she and Helgestad lived together for four years and had broken up about a month ago.  The criminal complaint indicates the woman was at a residence in Stoughton when Helgestad showed up uninvited last week Wednesday and created a scene.  The complaint says as the woman and a male friend drove back toward Edgerton, Helgestad repeatedly swerved his truck toward her vehicle, and crashed into them at least three times.  Later, Helgestad is accused of attacking the woman’s friend at a private residence.
