Congressman Mark Pocan holds labor listening session at Blackhawk Tech

Wisconsin Congressman Mark Pocan pays a visit to his constituents on Rock County, and he’s brining some special guests.
The 2nd District Democrat will be joined by U.S. Representative Mark DeSaulnier (dee-sahn-yay), U.S. Representative Donald Norcross, Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Phil Neuenfeldt, Director of COWS UW-Madison Joel Rogers, former Department of Labor Administrator David Weil, and Vice President of Research and Policy for the Roosevelt Institute Nell Abernathy for a listening session on the future of work titled “The Economy is Rigged: Trump’s GOP Wants to Make it Worse.”
The free, public event will take place Thursday afternoon from 3:30 until 5:30 at the Blackhawk Technical College central campus.
Pocan and Congressman DeSaulnier created the “Future of Work, Wages, and Labor” initiative, when they were both Members of the Education and Workforce Committee, to proactively grow and invigorate our labor force. They invited policymakers to hear the concerns and struggles working families face, and are now holding meetings with leading researchers across the country to anticipate the trends in the marketplace to identify pathways forward.
