A 61-year-old Beloit man is facing charges of operating while intoxicated eighth offense after an early Friday morning incident. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says Gene Williams was arrested shortly after 2:30 a.m. after he turned north into the southbound lanes of Riverside Drive from Henry Avenue. The deputy says he could smell alcohol on Williams’ breath and arrested him after field sobriety tests. Williams was also cited for driving left of center.
