The selfless actions of close to three dozen Rock County Sheriff’s personnel and ordinary citizens will be honored during a special awards ceremony at the court house Wednesday night. These civil servants are being singled out for their devotion to duty, courage, and quick action. A long list of lifesaving awards will be handed out. Among them, the repeated use of automated external defibrillators and CPR, the administration of Narcan to counteract overdoses, application of a tourniquet in a motorcycle accident, and heroic actions to prevent an inmate from hanging themselves. The public ceremony is set for 6:00 p.m. in the Jury Assembly Room.
