Beginning near Fond du Lac and running through Rock County and into Illinois, the Rock River Trail has gained the attention of the state legislature. Representative Mark Spreitzer of Beloit says both the Senate and Assembly have passed resolutions recognizing the importance of this recreational water and hiking route. The Democrat calls the Rock River Trail a true Wisconsin Treasure which will bring economic benefits to the 11 counties and 41 communities along it’s route. Spreitzer says the resolution also recognizes the grand opening of the Rock River Trail with ceremonies planned for 10:00 in the morning on Saturday June 3rd at the Rotary River Center in Beloit.
