Second defendant in Beloit murder case sentenced

The pain of a retaliatory shooting in Beloit was present Tuesday morning in a Rock County Court room. Judge Michael Haakenson made note of it while sentencing 29-year-old Marcus A. Clay for Aiding a Felon in last year’s shooting death of Cassini Hill.  Haakenson highlighted Clay’s decision to turn himself in, and testify it was 27-year-old Jamal I. Sharief who actually shot Hill eleven times and dumped his body on Colley Road in the town of Turtle. For this consideration, the judge sentenced Clay to three-years in prison.  The judge noted how Hill’s family might not be pleased with the sentence.  Those in attendance shared little reaction and left the courtroom in silence. Sharief has already been sentenced to 20-years.
