Janesville city officials are working to counter social media worries regarding the Monterey Dam removal project. City Manager Mark Freitag tells Your Talk Show on WCLO a design team including affected residents will be planning the removal and restoration process with the public works department. Freitag points to the success of groups like the Friends of Riverside Park in supporting citizen participation in ensuring the project turns out to the liking of the public. Work on removal of the dam is expected to begin as early as next spring.
