A Janesville family is displaced after their trailer home is destroyed by fire. Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Running says tenants reported the fire just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Kentucky Drive. Running says the family was awoken by a smoke detector. Upon arrival, emergency crews found the couple and their 5-year-old son safely outside the home. Running says the fire appears to have started on the electric stove, where a burner had been accidentally left on. The trailer is considered a total loss.
