The Traxler Park Lagoon in Janesville is the scene of a rather large fish die-off. The DNR and city parks director Cullen Slapak are investigating. Slapak says early speculation was a weed treatment might have been the cause. Slapak says the contractor says several fish kills have been reported around the state in areas without the treatment. Any problem locally would have been seen within a few days of the May 2nd treatment. Early speculation is the fish are dying from a disease common during the spawning season.
