Janesville pharmacist pleads guilty to fraud charges

A Janesville pharmacist pleads guilty in federal court to health care fraud.  By accepting a plea agreement, Mark S. Johnson, who ran the former Kealey Pharmacy in Janesville, will spend at least one year and one day in prison.  The maximum penalty for his plea was 10 years in prison.  The U.S. Attorney’s office says the 56-year-old former pharmacist from Milton engaged in a multiyear Medicare and Medicaid scheme.  Prosecutors also recommended the maximum available reduction in sentencing though for Johnson’s because he accepted responsibility.  Johnson admitted he billed for prescriptions that customers never picked up or received.  Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced August 30th.
