Rock County’s unemployment rate continues its downward trend. The Department of Workforce Development reports a 3.5% unemployment rate for April, down almost a full percentage point from the month before. The trend is apparent statewide with every county reporting a dip in the unemployment rate. DWD reports the state’s labor force participation rate increased to almost 69% and outpaces the national average by more than 5%. Unemployment claims also reportedly ended last year at their lowest level in more than forty-years.
