The growing prevalence of opioid abuse may have a long lasting impact on many of the area’s innocent youth. Rock County Foster Home Recruitment Specialist Cornel Bondurant says poverty and drug adiction n particular are forcing a growing need for placements. He says on average more than 200 youth need foster care in Rock County. Bondurant says his office isn’t simply sitting around waiting for foster parents. They are actively going out into the community to recruit. Booths are planned at events like Freedom Fest and the Rock County Fair. May has been Foster Care Month in Wisconsin.
