Oregon man dies in pickup versus semi crash in town of La Prairie

A 45-year-old Oregon man is dead following a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon involving a semi.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident, which occurred on East Highway 11/14 near County Road O just before 3:00 p.m.
Deputies found a pickup truck in the ditch with severe front end damage and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 54-year-old driver of the other vehicle – a semi tanker – was uninjured.
Investigation determined that both vehicles were westbound when the pickup driven by the 45-year-old Oregon man deviated from it’s lane and struck the semi.
Several witnesses reported the pickup had been driving erratic prior to the crash. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and the sheriff’s office says alcohol is considered a factor in the accident.
