The Rock County District Attorney’s Office files charges against a 21-year-old Janesville man they say aided Sundiata M. Roach of Janesville following a shooting last Monday in the City’s 4th Ward.
Roach is charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety after police say he fired four shots at a vehicle driven by a man he owed money to in the area of Center Avenue and Johnson Street.
21-year-old Cody James Odom, who was Roach’s roommate at the time of the shooting is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to deliver non-narcotics.
According to the criminal complaint, he took the gun from Roach after the shooting and gave it, and more than two ounces of marijuana to another friend to stash in her storage locker.
Janesville Police made contact with the woman outside her storage unit, and she pointed officers to the suspicious items.
If convicted of both charges, Odom faces up to 16 years in prison.
