The Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs’ Association recognizes Assembly Representative Amy Loudenbeck of Clinton as one of two legislators of the year for her work on a bill to allow Community Paramedics and EMT’s to address emerging public health challenges. Janesville Fire Chief Randy Banker says the legislation will expand the care allowed by emergency responders. The legislation may allow EMT’s to offer some forms a medical care not needing emergency transportation. Banker says the new law may actually save money by preventing the need for an ambulance ride to the emergency room.
