The YWCA Rock County is recruiting individuals and teams for the annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” to raise awareness about domestic violence. YWCA Communications Director Beverly Broyles says it’s become a real tradition. This will be the 11th year for the event. Boryles says registration is free, but each individuals and team is encouraged to solicit donations. Last year about 200 men donned women shoes for the event, which has a goal this year of more than $100-thousand. The “Walk” is scheduled for August 11th at the Pontiac Convention Center in Janesville.
