A night of terror is remembered during the sentencing of a 23-year-old Janesville man accused in an armed home invasion. The victim described how Damien S. Hewlett and others shattered the security of her husband and children’s home by barging in and tying them up at gunpoint. Hewlett did plead guilty, and the defense pointed out how that spared the family, and their young daughter from the trauma of testifying. Judge James Daley sentenced Hewlett to 21 1/2 years in prison with 13 1/2 years extended supervision.
