Two rescued on Lake Koshkonong

(Gazette photo)  Rock County Sheriff’s deputies, along with help from fire and EMS personnel from Milton, Edgerton Janesville, and Fort Atkinson, pluck a couple of jet skiers from the waters of Lake Koshkonong.  The emergency dispatch center got a call a little after 9:00 p.m. Thursday from a 46-year-old Milton man saying his personal watercraft flipped over and he couldn’t find his 28-year-old passenger from Eau Claire.  Rescuers responded to an area about one-and-a-half miles northwest of Dallman’s Landing on Charley Bluff Road and found the operator by 9:40 p.m. , and the passenger a little more than 15-minutes later.  Both were wearing their life jackets.  Deputies say they’d also been drinking, but weren’t over the legal limit.  The driver was cited for reckless operation and operating a personal watercraft after sunset.  The passenger was taken to the Rock County Jail on a probation violation.
