Remains of one of the Janesville 99 identified more than 70 years later

The remains of one of the Janesville 99 who endured the Bataan Death March and later died in a prison camp in the Philippines have finally been identified.
Gazette Reporter Frank Schultz met with the surviving family members of Private First Class Lloyd Lobdell (Wednesday) afternoon in Elkhorn.
Instead of bringing Lodbell’s remains back to Rock County, he will be laid to rest in a military cemetery in Hawaii.
Lobdell gre up on a farm outside of Janesville before joining the national guard.
