(Gazette graphic) SHINE Medical Technologies is planning a ground breaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction of a prototype facility to produce radioisotopes in Janesville. The ceremony is set for next Thursday at the project site just east of the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport. The company had early announced plans to break ground on the more than 11-thousand square foot facility by this summer. SHINE also plans to eventually build a 55,000-square-foot, full-scale medical radioisotope production facility on land just north of the prototype, but SHINE officials have said the smaller prototype facility is needed to lure financing for its full project.
