A 46-year-old Janesville man is dead following a two vehicle accident involving a semi in Walworth County.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the report of an injury crash on Highway 11/14 just west of Highway 89 in the town of Darien just before 4:00 Saturday afternoon.
Investigation determined that a vehicle driven by Ryan Andrew Phetteplace was headed eastbound when it entered the westbound lane and struck a semi driven by a Minnesota man head on.
Phetteplace, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead by the Walworth County Medical Examiner.
The 55-year-old driver of the semi was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
