Another warning about crooks, pretending to be government workers, looking to steal credit card information. Janesville City Clerk Dave Godek says some water utility customers have reported threatening phone calls demanding immediate payment. Godek says the caller pretends to be from the city and threatens disconnection. He says the caller ID even shows a city of Janesville phone number. He says the city never initiates phone calls regarding billing and suggests simply hanging up and reporting the incident to the city.
