A 55-year-old Monroe woman is dead after a automobile accident on Highway 11/81 in the town of Sylvester. The Green County Sheriff’s Office reports at about 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon 52-year-old Jeffery Knutson of Janesville was driving east and crossed the center line, hitting a westbound vehicle driven by Elena Kauffman. A U-W Med Flight doctor says Kauffman sustained “massive trauma” and the Green County Coroner’s Office pronounced her dead at the scene. Knutson suffered only minor injures. An investigation is underway.
