Janesville man sentenced to two years probation for overdosing while babysitting

A Janesville man accused of overdosing on heroin in the presence of two children he was watching takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
The criminal complaint indicates that that on the morning of May 24th 35-year-old Gene Anthony Isely found his cousin dead from a heroin overdose.
Later that day the cousin’s fiance left her two children with Isely so she could make funeral arrangements.  When she returned nine hours later Isely was unconscious.
Isely plead no contest to two charges of child neglect and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and a charge of possession of narcotics was dropped.
Judge John Wood sentenced him Tuesday to two years of probation.
