The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the victims in Tuesday night’s plane crash near Fort Atkinson Municipal Airport. Registered sport pilot 51-year-old David Plambeck of Edgerton, and 16-year-old Max Burlingame of Fort Atkinson, were killed when the Pegasus Quantum ultralight plane Plambeck was piloting crashed into the Rock River in the town of Jefferson. The crash happened on County K halfway between Fort Atkinson and Jefferson. Emergency personnel found the aircraft almost completely submerged. Nearby recreational boaters helped retrieve the bodies from the plane. The cause of the crash is unknown and under investigation.
