Officials with the City of Janesville work to keep the problems of a troubled Watertown tavern that closed after just a few months out of Janesville.
City Council and Alcohol License Advisory Committee Member Paul Williams says the former owner of Elevation wants to open an establishment called Empyre Sports Bar and Grill in the former Black Bridge Bowl.
Williams says in addition to crime problems at the former location in Watertown, the applicant lied about her address on the license.
Last week the ALAC forwarded a negative recommendation to the City Council.
The City Council will meet to consider the liquor license when they meet at 6:00 on Monday night at City Hall.
