A long-time member of the Beloit City Council is resigning.
After more than 10 years on the Beloit City Council, Sheila Deforest is stepping down to move to California.
DeForest’s last meeting will be August 21st.
The City Council is expected to take applications and appoint someone to fill the remainder of DeForest’s term which expires in April of next year.
Deforest is hosting a going away party for the community Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Rotary River Center in Beloit
