The Rock County Court sentencing of a 72-year-old Janesivlle man, on a homicide by the intoxicated use of a motor vehicle conviction, will have to wait. Judge Michael Haakenson Thursday morning recused himself from sentencing Michael A. Perry, because the judge is board president for Spotlight on Kids, which rents space from the accused’s sister Jackie Wood at the Old Towne Mall. District Attorney David O’Leary disagrees there’s a sufficient legal basis for the substitution. Perry pleaded guilty in last November’s death in Riverside Park of pedestrian Christopher Rabuck of Janesville.
