With only two weeks until the start of school, some Janesville teachers plan to get to know their students ahead of time. District Communications Specialist Patrick Gasper says staff from Harrison and Jefferson Elementary Schools will be walking the neighborhoods around their respective locations Wednesday. Teams of two or three will be wearing matching t-shirts and ID badges, and will meet with parents in their driveways and on porches. Jefferson staff found such success with the home visits last year, the program is being expanded to Harrison.
