More than 2,000 uninsured Rock County residents could lose access to healthcare if federal lawmakers don’t take action.

With all the national focus on Grahm-Cassidy, the folks at Community Health System Inc which run the Beloit Area Community Health Center and Janesville Community Health Center are warning that the Health Center Fund approved by congress in 2015 is set to expire September 30th.

Business and Marketing Manager Lynn Vollbrecht says is congress doesn’t renew that funding community health systems around the country will lose 70 percent of their federal dollars.

Vollbrecht says Beloit Area Community Health Center and Janesville Community Health Center see patients that don’t have any type of insurance and the loss of this funding would mean they could no longer provide care to them.

Vollbrecht is encouraging citizens to contact their lawmakers seeking action.
