A 33-year-old Janesville man, who raised fear in Rock County last April, goes on trial in Federal court Monday. Joseph A. Jakubowski, is accused of leading local, state and federal law enforcement on a 10-day manhunt starting April 4. The search followed a 161-page rant criticizing the government sent to President Donald Trump and the burglary of a Janesville gun shop. Area school districts also closed or went on alert for a short time while the manifesto was analyzed. Law enforcement officials said after the arrest, one of their concerns was Jakubowski might be planning mass murder. No evidence of such a plan was ever revealed, and an attorney for Jakubowski said he never intended to hurt anyone. The federal indictment charges Jakubowski of stealing firearms and silencers from a federally licensed firearms dealer and being a felon in possession of those firearms and silencers
