Janesville man sentenced to probation for heroin possession

A 35-year-old Janesville man who overdosed on heroin three times this year won’t be serving any jail time on his latest conviction.
Rock County Judge John Wood accepted a guilty plea from Jacob L. Martin on a single count of possession of narcotic drugs Wednesday afternoon in Rock County Court and in exchange, dismissed several other charges.
Wood sentenced Martin to two years of probation.
Authorities say during Martin’s most recent overdose in July h jumped in the Rock River to avoid apprehension sparking a search by divers. He turned up wet and muddy the next morning.
