Several of Wisconsin’s members of Congress push for progress on the proposed Ho-Chunk National casino in Beloit.
In a letter to Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, Senator Tammy Baldwin and Representatives Mark Pocan, Gwen Moore, and Ron Kind urge the Bureau of Indian Affairs to move forward on the tribe’s application.
The letter dated September 20th says the the project enjoys strong regional and local support and has long been seen by the community s an important economic development opportunity.
The next step in the application process which began in 2012 is for the B-I-A to release the draft Environmental Impact Statement in the public record. The release of the E-I-S will then prompt a public hearing on the casino in Beloit.
