Beloit police say a 45-year-old city man drove himself to the hospital about 2:45 a.m. Monday morning. Lieutenant John Coltenbrun says the man was suffering from a close range, through-and-though wound to the abdomen. He was treated and released. The investigation led police to a home in the 1700 block of Poole Court. Coltenbrun says they executed a search warrant and found a hole near the back door consistent with a bullet being fire in the home.
