On Saturday, October 7th from 6-9:30 pm, the YMCA of Northern Rock County is hosting its 10th Annual Tropical Fiesta presented by The Diamond Center! All proceeds from this event benefit the YMCA Youth Scholarship Campaign.
“The Diamond Center is very excited to be the title sponsor for this long-standing community event,” said Steve Yeko, Jr., The Diamond Center Owner and Vice President. “We believe strongly in serving our customers and our community, and that is why we are proud to support the YMCA and this campaign.”
“The YMCA sincerely appreciates the generosity and commitment of Steve Yeko Jr. and the Diamond Center for their support as the title sponsor for the event this year,” said Dr. Tom Den Boer, CEO of the YMCA.
The event will be held at the Parker YMCA in Milton, WI. The Parker gymnasium will be transformed into a tropical paradise complete with palm trees and volcanoes! Those in attendance will enjoy live music from “Banana Wind” a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, all-you-can-eat Caribbean cuisine and all-you-can-drink Miller Beer products. There will also be a limbo contest and everyone will receive a commemorative photo! Island attire is encouraged.
Nelson’s Pools and Spas and Hometown Recreation will be providing free pool, foosball and darts along with various recreational games site during the event.
“The YMCA of Northern Rock County is committed to allowing everyone to participate at the YMCA regardless of their financial situation. The YMCA has financial assistance available for membership and/or program fees through our Annual Youth Scholarship Campaign,” said Den Boer. “We help a variety of youth, individuals and entire families who face a variety of financial challenges. This event, which brings over 300 attendees each year, is sure to be even more successful this year, allowing us to help more people in the community.”
Admission and raffle tickets are available for sale at the Downtown Janesville YMCA and the Parker YMCA in Milton.
