Humane Society looking for owners of puppy tossed from bridge into Rock River

(Facebook photo) The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin is hoping to find the owners of a puppy that was tossed from the Memorial Bridge in Janesville into the Rock River.
According to a Facebook post a fisherman saw a young person walk up the bridge with the black puppy, unhook the leash, and then toss the animal into the water.
The little dog was able to swim to the side of the river where the fisherman retrieved him.
Officials with the Humane Society believes the dog may have been stolen due to the level of cruelty.
Anyone who recognizes the dog, or has a tip about the person suspected of throwing it in the river is asked to contact the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin.
