The Janesville League of Women Voters will host a Fair Maps Community Forum on Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 6-8 p.m. in Allen Hall at the University of Wisconsin –Rock County, 2909 Kellogg Ave, in Janesville.
Two long-time legislators, former Wisconsin State Senators Tim Cullen (D) and Dale Schultz (R) have been speaking across the state and in the national media to advocate for fair legislative districts. They will be the principal speakers at this forum. This is an opportunity to learn more about the Gill v Whitford case currently in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, and its impact on voting.
There is no charge to attend this forum co-sponsored with the UW Rock History Department.
Several organizations are offering their support of this special event including: American Association of University Women, Beloit League of Women Voters, Forward Janesville, Whitewater League of Women Voters and Women’s Fund in Janesville.
The all-volunteer local League of Women Voters of Janesville is a non-partisan organization which works to register voters, host candidate forums, study local, state, and national issues and to bring informative programs to the citizens of Janesville and northern Rock County.
