Plans to restore the shoreline of the Rock River in Janesville, after the removal of the Monterey Dam, get a boost from the Department of Natural Resources. City Stormwater Engineer Tim Whittaker says an almost $150 thousand Stewardship grant has been awarded.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars in other grants are also expected.  The latest grant will be used to restore the north side shoreline and install recreational amenities.  Work is expected to begin next year.
