Hendricks Commercial Properties in Beloit is planning a new hotel and cafe for the downtown. Vice President of Lodging Jonathan Webster sees demand in the market for the pair to be located at 500 Public Avenue. Webster says Hotel Goodwin will be patterned after a downtown luxury hotel which closed in 1904, and the Velvet Buffalo Cafe will be a European styled cafe. Hendricks Commercial Properties, and its’ Geronimo Hospitality Group already own Merrill & Houston’s Steak Joint, Lucy’s #7 Burger Bar, and the Ironworks Hotel. Construction is expected to begin next year.
