Beloit Superintendent of Schools Tom Johnson is on leave as of Thursday. The school board called a special closed door meeting Thursday night to discuss a “specific personnel problem regarding an administrator”. School Board President Laurie Endres calls Johnson a strong leader who’s done great things for the district. Endres says the district has a strategic plan and that mission will be followed despite Johnson’s absence. No reason is given for the leave. Assistant Superintendent of Administration, Operations, and Equity Darrell Williams will serve as interim superintendent.
