As part of Traffic Incident Response Week, state and federal officials use Interstate construction in Rock County as a backdrop to urge the public to drive carefully in work zones. Michael Davies with the Federal Highway Administration honored dozens of local first responders Tuesday during a special luncheon at the state Department of Transportation Field Office in Edgerton. He calls the statistics alarming with 13% of all first reponders who lose their lives on the job losing them in traffic incidents.
