The city of Janesville budget next year includes additional spending for public safety and transportation. The $118 million spending plan approved by the council Monday night will allow for the addition of two police officers, three firefighters, additional road crack sealing, and reduced Janesville Transit Fees. The 2018 budget reflects an almost seven percent increase over this year, and tax-payers will see an almost 5% increase in their rate.
