Janesville police are gathering evidence in the weekend stabbing death of 43-year-old Christine Scaccia-Lubeck. Lieutenant Terry Sheridan says shortly after finding Scaccia-Lubeck dead in her home on South River Street late Saturday afternoon, investigators found her car was missing. The cars navigation system helped them track it to a gas station in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and police there took 21-year-old Julian D. Collazo of Texas, and 23-year-old Nicole R. Kazar of Beloit into custody. Police are currently working on extradition. They say Collazo has a lengthy criminal history. Sheridan also revealed during a Monday morning news conference the victim was stabbed more than 30 times and was found by her mother. Police are still investigating a motive, but believe Collazo was an invited guest in Scaccia-Lubeck’s home.
