With the holiday season here, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office is stepping up patrols to deter drunk drivers. Sheriff’s Commander Troy Knutson says a new “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign begins Friday. Funding is made possible through a grant from the Department of Transportation, and Knutson says most area communities are participating. The DOT is also promoting a free Drive Sober mobile app which includes a blood alcohol estimator, designated driver selector, and find-a-ride feature that uses a smart phone’s GPS to locate alternative transportation. “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” lasts through New Year’s Day.
