Janesville declares snow emergency

Janesville officials are warning motorists not to park on the street starting at 4:00 o’clock Friday afternoon until snow removal operations are complete.  A snow emergency has been declared in response to the snow Thursday and more predicted Friday.  City workers plan to begin plowing Friday afternoon, and don’t expect to finish until early Saturday.  Police warn cars on the street can be ticketed.  The fine is $50.  Parking is permitted in seven downtown lots including, East Wall Street, City Hall, South High Street, the Senior Center, Hedberg Public Library, River-Union Street, and the North Park Drive Parking Ramp.
