Janesville doggie daycare looks to expand

The business of doggie daycare appears to be booming in Janesville.
At least one facility is seeking permission from the Plan Commission to expand and add overnight kenneling services as well.
Dawg Zone Doggie Daycare has occupied a 5,000 square foot building on Commercial Drive under a conditional use permit approved by the Plan Commission in 2010.
The facility is asking the Plan Commission to amend that conditional use permit to allow for a 4,000 square foot building expansion. The business is also looking to be able to house between five and seven dogs overnight.
The property is currently zoned M1 light industrial and a kennel require review and approval by the Plan Commission.
The Janesville Plan Commission Tuesday evening is expected to schedule a public hearing for the project on January 15th.
