Joseph Jakubowski is asking a Rock County Court judge to move his case to another county or to get its jury from another county. The motion filed by Jakubowski’s attorney, cites pre-trial publicity from newspapers, radio and television. News coverage was extensive in southern Wisconsin last April after the Janesville man sent a political manifesto to President Donald Trump and then, authorities say, broke into a Janesville gun shop, taking firearms and ammunition. Jakubowski is charged with burglary, theft and possession of burglary tools in Rock County Court. A jury trial in the case is set for Jan. 22, but the change requested could delay proceedings. A Rock County judge is scheduled to hear arguments and decide the issue at a hearing at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rock County Courthouse.
